I am an Associate Professor of the Practice in Writing and English at Davidson College. I teach Writing courses in topics ranging from sound-studies to print culture to “bad art,” as well as English courses in poetry and poetics and book-studies. I also frequently collaborate in my Letterpress Lab, with colleagues in Writing, Humanities, English, Religious Studies, Theatre, and other disciplines.
Before joining the faculty at Davidson, I acquired my B.A. at the University of Delaware, M.A. at the University of Chicago and Ph.D. at the State University of New York, Buffalo. My scholarship focuses on American literature, especially poetry and poetics from the 19th century to the present. I also make artist’s books and limited-edition letterpress prints, featuring my own writing as well as writing by emerging and established authors, including Colson Whitehead, Anne Carson, CAConrad, Ocean Vuong, Craig Dworkin, Yona Harvey, and others.
